April Tryst Camellia

The April Tryst Camellia is an upright, evergreen bush with dark-green, glossy leaves, growing over 5 feet tall. In April it carries large, 4-inch blooms of rich red, with a dense, twisted center of red and white miniature petals. It carries many buds and blooms in succession over several weeks. This is one of the most cold-hardy camellias available, and it is a reliable bloomer even in zone 6, where other camellias fail. It can also be grown in a pot and kept in a cool place for winter, in any zone. This gorgeous bloom brings camellias to gardeners who thought they couldn’t grow them.
