The Bay Laurel Patio Tree is a beautiful small tree with a short trunk and a rounded top, standing 3 or 4 feet tall. The evergreen leaves are handsome dark green, with a simple oval shape. These are the ‘bay leaves’ used in cooking, and having your own fresh supply is a real bonus. This tree is perfect for placing in a decorative planter box or pot on a terrace, patio or balcony. Place a pair on either side of your front door or stand them along a pathway. Plant one in a herb garden, or to create an accent in a flower bed. In cooler zones it can easily be overwintered in a cool porch or well-lit room.

  • Handsome rounded globe on a short trunk
  • Attractive dark-green evergreen foliage
  • Wonderful tree for a terrace or patio
  • Leaves are very useful in the kitchen
  • Easily grown outdoors, or in a porch over winter

Full sun or partial shade is best for the Bay Laurel Patio Tree. It grows well in all types of well-drained soils, with some watering during dry periods. Use a porous potting soil for planters and have a drain hole in the pot. Pests or diseases are uncommon, and this tree benefits from regular fertilizer. Trim in spring, before new stems appear, and shorten new growth as needed to maintain the form you want your tree to have.
