The Golden Columnar English Yew is a remarkable slender evergreen, with beautiful golden foliage in spring and into the summer. It has a narrow profile, reaching about 10 feet tall and just 2 feet wide within 10 years, and growing in time to 30 feet or more. It stays naturally dense and upright, or it can be trimmed for the most formal look you want. Use it as an accent specimen in beds or on a lawn, between a window or framing a door, or in a tub. It looks great in both formal and informal settings, and long-lived, becoming a majestic specimen in time.
Your Golden Columnar English Yew will grow in full sun, but it is especially useful in shady spots, where it stays dense and keeps its golden coloring. It grows in zones 6 to 8, thriving in moderate climates. As long as the soil is well-drained it can be of any kind, including alkaline soils. Pests or diseases almost never bother it and deer leave it strictly alone. Trim between late spring and early fall, if you want.
