The Acadiana™ Red Holly is a wonderful newer hybrid holly that has everyone talking. It grows very rapidly into a perfect pyramid shape, without any need for clipping. It will reach 15 to 20 feet tall and be 12 to 15 feet wide at the base, within just ten years. It has strikingly-beautiful spiny leaves and a heavy crop or orange-red berries perfect for the holiday season. Grow it as a specimen, or plant it as a fast-growing hedge. Use it in large planter boxes too – wherever you use it you will love it. This is a holly that stands out from the crowd.
The Acadiana™ Holly grows in zone 6 and warmer, right into the zone 9. It is extremely adaptable, growing in all soils from sand to clay, and in moist to dry soil too. Once established it is very drought resistant, and the vigor it gains from its hybrid origins means it is tough and pest-resistant. Water regularly until established, and spring mulch will conserve moisture and enrich the soil, giving you the very best results possible for so very little effort.
