Lemon Ball Sedum

The Lemon Ball Sedum is a reliable evergreen groundcover and sprawling plant for hot, dry parts of your garden. It forms a flowing carpet of yellow-green leaves that turn glowing orange-red in fall and winter. Summer is a splash of canary-yellow flowers which attract bees and butterflies. Plant the Lemon Ball Sedum in full sun to keep it bright – it will be greener and loose-growing in shade. It is reliable from zone 7, and loves dry, sandy soils, but also anywhere that is well-drained. It needs no attention, and if it should spread more than you want it is easy to pull out the stems, which don’t make deep roots. Trim the spent flowers for neatness if you want, and cut back in spring if you need to control its size.
