The Summer Snowflake Viburnum is one of the most beautiful garden shrubs, with a spectacular form of horizontal branches carrying a double row of pure-white lace-cap flowers all along them. These are produced from June into the fall, a unique feature of this double-file viburnum. It is also unique in having a narrower but taller profile than most others, making it ideal for smaller spaces. The handsome green leaves turn spectacular shades or red and purple in fall, and the red berries that follow the blooms are beautiful too. This is the perfect specimen shrub for that special spot in your garden, where its full beauty can be appreciated.
Plant the Summer Snowflake Viburnum in full sun or with some afternoon shade, in any well-drained soil. Moist, rich, slightly acidic soils are best, but not at all essential. Avoid trimming, but shorten back any very tall, upright branches as they develop, to encourage the unique horizontal layering of this beautiful shrub. It is generally free of pests and diseases, and easy to grow.
