Autumn Belle Encore® Azalea

The Autumn Belle™ Encore® Azalea has unique bi-color ruffled flowers. Not only are they rich and full, with extra petals, but their soft pink coloring is highlighted with refined streaks and spots of deep pink radiating out from the heart of every flower. This fast-growing bush increase in size by 12 inches a year, and soon becomes a plant that is 5 or 6 feet tall and wide – a great addition to your garden. It blooms in April with the older kinds of azaleas, but then from early July it takes off again, blooming continuously until the first frost. Enjoy blooms all summer and fall, not just in spring. Grow the Autumn Bell Encore Azalea in acidic soil tha has a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. Many parts of the south-east have this kind of soil, and if your neighbors grow azaleas, you can too. Otherwise, grow in a pot or planter, being sure to use potting soil blended for acid-loving plants, and a liquid azalea fertilizer too. This plant is more sun-tolerant than older types of azaleas, and it will grow in full sun in cooler zones, and in sun with some afternoon shade in warmer ones. It will also grow in shader spots where ordinary azaleas grow, so it is much more versatile around your garden – and more beautiful for so much longer.
