Wow! Red! Nothing says, ‘rose’ like a red one, and the Sunblaze® Watermelon Rose Tree is the answer when you want an abundance of beautiful red roses in your garden. Raised on a strong stem, this rounded bush becomes a real eye-catcher, standing up to 4 feet tall, with abundant dark-green leaves to set off the brilliant watermelon red blooms. Like all the Sunblaze® roses its smaller flowers are carried in abundance, and their size makes this plant ideal for smaller gardens and also for growing in pots. Imagine those beautiful clusters of extra-double red flowers decorating your terrace, standing beside the front door, or even on your balcony – who says you need a garden to grow roses? Blooms begin in early summer and continue in red waves right into the fall – it’s an avalanche of red. Easy to grow, tough, reliable and bred for resistance as well as beauty, this outstanding new variety will win your heart and make your garden a very special place.

  • Petal-packed blossoms of brilliant, bright red
  • Compact bush on a strong stem for smaller gardens
  • Continuous blooming, from early summer into fall
  • The perfect choice for a rose to grow in a pot or planter box
  • Tough, reliable and resistant, the way modern roses should be

Place your Sunblaze® Watermelon Tree Rose in a sunny spot, to maximize blooming, and plant it in rich, well-drained and moist soil. Water during summer is needed to keep those blooms coming. Roses enjoy lots of compost and organic material in the soil, so add it when preparing the planting spot. When growing in a pot add 1 part of garden soil to 3 parts of potting soil to make a richer mixture. Feed potted trees regularly with liquid rose fertilizer, and use compost as a mulch and fertilizer when growing in the garden, or use a granular rose food. Prune your plant in spring, removing thin, twiggy growth and leaving a short framework of sturdy branches to re-sprout.
