A stunning and prolific bloomer, you can expect flowers on your Blushing Drift® Rose from May to November in any moderate zone. Striking a perfect balance between the more formal look of double roses and the casual naturalness of the single wild rose, each 1 1⁄2 inch bloom is a soft blush pink, forming a circle of many petals around a golden heart typical of wild roses. Perfect where you want casual elegance, or for a real cottage look, this remarkable rose forms a broad, trailing mound up to 3 feet across, but rises just 18 inches into the air. With great disease resistance it forms few hips and needs little dead-heading, although some trimming is always welcome for maximum effect. A superb choice for edging beds where they can spill onto a path or patio, it is equally wonderful at the top of a wall, cascading down and creating a wonderful and colorful softness. It’s also ideal in containers
If you want maximum blooming, choose a sunny place for your Blushing Drift® Rose. Plant in rich but well-drained soil and keep it moist, especially through summer, or flowering will diminish. It’s highly resistant to black spot and rust, so spraying is a thing of the past. Remove sprays of blooms once they finish, to keep new growth and new blooms coming all through the season. In late winter prune back to a framework of stronger stems, removing all twiggy and thin growth. Fertilize with slow-release rose food for maximum blooming all season long.
