Henryās Garnet Itea is a native deciduous shrub attractive in three seasons, forming an arching mound 3 to 4 feet tall and up to 6 feet wide. It has mid-green leaves that turn spectacular fall shades of golds, oranges, and burgundy-reds, making a fiery show that lasts well into winter. From late spring to mid-summer it carries a profusion of hanging clusters of small white flowers, that are fragrant and very attractive. It grows well in those difficult wet places in any garden, and of course itās ideal for native gardens and wild plantings.
Henryās Garnet Itea is very tolerant of a range of light conditions, favoring full sun or partial shade but growing acceptably in light full shade as well. It grows in ordinary to moist garden soils as well as in wet conditions, including heavy clay soils. It is generally pest and disease free and ignored by deer. A light spring or summer trim will keep it super-neat if you want that.
