The Italian Cypress is a tall, columnar tree, growing to about 40 feet tall and staying only 4 or 5 feet wide, without needing clipping. This striking plant makes a gorgeous tall column of deep green to accent any part of your garden or you can plant a row to make a narrow screen or hedge. It has soft foliage and attractive round cones and grows in any sunny, place in all kinds of soil. It makes a beautiful accent plant, or for ‘columns’ on each side of a door or driveway. It is also the ideal choice for a screen in a confined space, as it will naturally grow tall and stay narrow without needing clipping.

  • Perfect tall column of dark green
  • Stays narrow without any trimming needed
  • Very drought resistant for even the driest areas
  • Tough and easy to grown
  • Deer and fire resistant

Plant the Italian Cypress in any kind of soil, from sand to clay, but not in areas that are wet or poorly drained. It is remarkably drought resistant once established, and thrives in those sunny, hot and dry spots where other plants fail. Ideal for a low-maintenance screen, it needs no clipping to stay trim enough to fit into narrow spaces. It is fast growing, drought resistant, and has few pests and diseases. As well, it is resistant to deer and even fire resistant – an important consideration in California and other dry states.
