Limoncello Barberry

The Limoncello™ Barberry is a great new addition to our range of colored barberry plants, and this neat, mounding shrub is the perfect way to brighten your garden without adding work. The spring leaves are bright golden yellow, with red edges and freckling across them. Older leaves turn chartreuse green in summer, and then bounces back with red, yellow and orange in fall. Growing just 3 or 4 feet tall and wide, it makes a golden mound of leaves that is perfect in smaller beds, or for planting in groups. It’s a great way to make an edging, untrimmed or trimmed, and its good for planters too, alone or with other flowering plants.

Full sun and hot dry conditions suit the Limoncello™ Barberry perfectly. It grows in any well-drained soil, even sandy and rocky ones, and it thrives in urban locations and difficult parts of your garden. It is completely hardy in zone 4, and pests or diseases never bother it. Deer and rabbits ignore it, and this easy plant needs virtually no attention. The tiny leaves don’t even need raking up.
