The Loblolly Pine is a unique native American tree that grows in wet clay soils, while most pines prefer dry, sandy soil. It grows in all the hot and humid parts of the country where many other evergreens fail. It is also among the fastest growing pine trees, easily adding 2 feet in height every year. It will eventually grow into a tall tree, but its height can easily be controlled by trimming. Although very suited for wet conditions, it will also grow well in ordinary soils from sand to clay and once established it is drought resistant too. The tough, easy to grow tree is ideal for screening, planting behind smaller trees, or for natural gardening.

  • Attractive pine tree for hot, humid states
  • Very fast-growing tree
  • Grows well in wet and flooded soils
  • Makes a great screen or background plant
  • Easily grown and trouble-free

A sunny location is best for the Loblolly Pine tree. Keep it well watered for the first year, and after that it will thrive with no special care at all. It has no particular pests or diseases and quickly makes an attractive screen for wind or unsightly views. If you have low-lying, damp areas on your property this is the ideal tree to plant in them. Its handsome, rugged good-looks are always welcome, and make this a great tree to grow almost anywhere.
