You will be amazed by the Pink Beauty Cinquefoil, because its bloom are not the usual yellow we expect from these shrubs, but yes, you guessed it, bright pink. It makes a low mound less than 3 feet tall, but over 4 feet wide within just a few years, and it has branches and blooms right to the ground. The blooms are open bowls of beauty, in different shades of pink, depending on how hot it is. Flowers are produced continuously from May to September, brightening sunny beds, slopes, terraces and rock gardens, as well as making an attractive informal low hedge.
Grow your Pink Beauty Cinquefoil in the sun, although in hot zones a little afternoon shade will help reduce heat-fading of the flower color. It grows well in any well-drained soil, and tolerates cold winters and hot summers. Pests, diseases, deer, salt-spray, urban pollution – all these are never issues with this easy-care plant. It can be trimmed as needed, and remove some of the thickest branches from older plants to keep them young and vigorous.
