Like all the other Drift® roses, the Sweet Drift® Rose is so easy to grow, and so useful in the garden, you will wonder why you were ever scared of planting roses. No, you won’t need an armory of chemicals, or a bunch of complex skills, to enjoy this one, the perfect foreground planting that will bring you an endless succession of charming pink miniature double blooms from late spring to first frost. The clusters of 2-inch diameter flowers are carried in profusion, sweetly spilling out of a bed onto a path or terrace, or softening the top of a wall. Great in planters too, it grows just 18 inches tall, but spreads up to 30 inches across, so just a few make a substantial border to finish your beds in glorious pink. Incredible resistance to all the major rose diseases means beauty without chemicals, and they produce very few hips so dead-heading isn’t even needed. Sounds too good to be true? Enjoy the delicious pink sweetness and find out just how true it really is.

  • Full-double flowers of the sweetest pink keep on coming and coming
  • Broad, low bushes for edging and trailing over walls or from planters
  • Resistant to all the major rose diseases, so no need to spray
  • Good resistance to all major rose diseases
  • Cut sprays of blooms for beautiful table decoration too

Full sun will keep your Sweet Drift® Rose blooming continuously from late spring throughout the summer and into fall, and old flower heads generally just disappear beneath the foliage with no particular need to dead-head. Grow it in richer soil, that should be well-drained, but with a steady supply of water through summer – drought tends to reduce flowering. Highly resistant to black spot, mildew and rust, so spraying just isn’t needed, making this plant as easy to grow as any garden shrub. Prune in early spring, cutting back to a framework of stronger branches and removing thin, twiggy growth.
